In 2024, MineFill Services completed the backfill component of a pre-feasibility study for the Great Bear Project in Canada on behalf of Kinross Gold Corporation.
The study included both paste fill and cemented rock fill testwork to evaluate potential backfill strategies capable of supporting the proposed underground mining operation. Detailed testing and engineering assessments were undertaken to determine the most suitable approach for future mine development.
The results identified that a combination of cemented rock fill and paste fill would be required to meet the project’s production and mining requirements, providing a practical foundation for ongoing project planning and development.
